Seeds of Hope serves Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Denver. Since its inception, Seeds of Hope has given more than $19 million dollars to more than 12,000 students at Archdiocesan Catholic schools through tuition assistance, scholarships, vouchers, and the Adopt-A-Program.
Since its inception, the primary focus of Seeds of Hope has been the six S.U.N. (Schools in Urban Neighborhoods) schools. In 1987, the S.U.N. Schools united together to ensure the quality of education students were receiving in the inner city of Denver. These schools serve predominately single-parent households, and more than 90 percent of the students are minorities. Currently, the S.U.N. Schools include Annunciation, Guardian Angels, Loyola, Presentation, St. Francis de Sales, and St. Rose of Lima. Seventy percent of grants given have assisted the six S.U.N. schools.
Each year, Seeds of Hope identifies additional schools with similar economic needs and demographic challenges. For the 2010-2011 school year, these schools include: Assumption, Blessed Sacrament, St. Anthony, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Louis (Englewood), St. Therese, and Sts. Peter and Paul.
