History

Established in 1996, Seeds of Hope Charitable Trust is a partnership between the Archdiocese of Denver and concerned business and community leaders.  Seeds of Hope provides funds for tuition assistance to students who may not otherwise be able to afford a Catholic education, and solidifies the financial position of the Catholic elementary schools affiliated with the Archdiocese of Denver.

Since its inception, the primary focus of Seeds of Hope has been the six S.U.N. schools (Schools in Urban Neighborhoods).  These schools serve predominantly single-parent households in areas profoundly impacted by poverty and violence.  For the 2008-2009 school year, these six schools included: Annunciation, Guardian Angels, Loyola, Presentation of Our Lady, St. Francis de Sales, and St. Rose of Lima.  More than ninety percent of the students in these schools have a minority background.

Each year, Seeds of Hope identifies additional schools with similar economic needs and demographic challenges.  For the 2010-2011 school year these seven schools included: Assumption, Blessed Sacrament, St. Anthony, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Louis in Englewood, St. Therese, and Sts. Peter and Paul.  These 13 schools are the primary focus of Seeds of Hope.
